  • Provide a government issued ID proving that you are of legal drinking age.
  • Pass a breathalyzer test prior to leaving the premises after your test. Although we do not anticipate that you will have to stay longer than scheduled, be prepared to stay for additional time as required for your safety.

Illinois

To participate in an alcohol study at Curion, in adherence with Illinois State Requirements, you are REQUIRED to verify that you are not driving a vehicle to or from our facility. You must provide proof of transportation for BOTH arrival and departure using one (or a combination) of the following options:

  • Option 1: Designated Driver – Your driver must come inside to sign you in upon arrival and return to the front desk to sign you out at the end of the session.

  • Option 2: Public Transportation / Ride-share (Uber, Lyft, Metra, etc.) – You must show an arrival receipt/ticket to sign in AND a return trip confirmation/ticket to sign out. All proof must bear the study date.

  • Option 3: Combination – You may use different methods for each direction (e.g., a designated driver for arrival and a ride-share for departure) provided you meet the specific proof requirements for both.

Additional Requirements:

  • Provide a government-issued ID proving that you are of legal drinking age.

  • Stay the entire duration of your scheduled study session, even if you finish testing early. This is a mandatory safety observation period.

Incentive: You will receive an additional $35 in your study payment for providing proof of a designated driver or public transportation. (Note: You are responsible for paying your own driver or fare).

If alcohol study requirements are not met, you may NOT participate. These requirements are State mandated regulations. Falsifying information or failing to provide two-way proof of transport will lead to permanent Curion panel restriction.
