What to Expect When Your Child Joins a Paid Product Test at Curion

Curion gives kids the chance to be a part of safe, paid product testing both at home and in our facilities.

Kids opinions matter! Before companies release new products, they want the opinions of the customers who will use them, kids included!

At Curion, families can safely and easily participate in research that helps shape popular snacks, beverages, personal care, and home-use products. All products that our panelists test are GRSA approved and age appropriate. Children can participate in studies at Curion facilities and at home. We’re here to guide you each step of the way.

We take safety very seriously at Curion. Many products that we test are already available in store, and brands are seeking feedback on a change they’re considering, like a new package design or a new ingredient.

Getting started

To participate in Curion studies, children under the age of 18 must be registered under a parent/legal guardian’s Curion profile.

Children are never contacted directly. All communication is through their parent/guardian. Learn more by reading Curion’s Privacy Policy and our Children’s Privacy Article.

Screener Surveys

Screener surveys determine if panelists, including child panelists, qualify for studies. Parent/guardians can always check their Curion portal for available surveys. Invitations to take screener surveys are also sent to the parent/guardian via text or email. Screener surveys always include details about the study, including the product type, time commitment, location, and compensation.

Qualifying for a Study

At the end of a screener survey, you will learn if your child qualifies for a study. If your child meets the study criteria, you will be asked to sign a study waiver. No participation can happen without a signed waiver. If your child does not qualify, don’t worry, we’ll contact you with another opportunity soon! Your child will earn 10 rewards points for every completed survey that does not result in qualifying for a study.

Next, you’ll be asked to schedule a session time for you and your child to come into your local Curion facility so your child can participate in the study. If a session time is not available, your child will be placed on a waitlist, and you will be contacted if a seat becomes available.

If you qualify for a Home Use Test, you’ll schedule a time to come to your local Curion facility to pick up your materials and receive thorough instructions. The rest of the study will be completed at home, so you don’t have to bring your child to pick up the product.

Do’s and Don’ts for Parents

Do

  • Have fun!
  • Help your children feel special and excited about their study. Their opinions will help shape the products they are testing.
  • Help your child understand that they should share their real opinions, whether they’re good or bad. There’s no right or wrong answer.
  • Let us know if you’re running late for your scheduled time or cannot make the study. Late arrival may prevent your child from participating.

Don’t

  • Give your opinion or speak for your child. We want their authentic opinion, even if it’s negative!
  • Wait until the last minute to start a Home Use Test. These studies often have multiple steps and online timers that pace each step. Learn more about Home Used Tests here.
